Solarium - Flash Floods & Water Purification

As the Solarium's south-eastern site boarders a seasonal river and water fall, managing water quality and loads as a result of the development is a major focus of how the Jungle Park functions. A majority of the water run off created by the impermeable surfaces over much of the site drains to the jungle park. The circuitous rout the water takes, as well as the increase in absorbative material due to the increased surface area of the park, a result of the mounded planting beds, slows the flow of the water, provides retention, as well as cleans the water before it is discharged back into the environment via the seasonal river.
